Born in Delhi on June 14, 1982, Ashneer is an alumnus of IIT-Delhi and IIM-Ahmedabad. He spent the first seven years of his professional career in the financial industry working for Kotak Investment Banking. He later joined American Express India, where he gained knowledge of the many investment options and prospects in payment companies.
After working for Grofers, Ashneer made the decision to form BharatPe, a successful finance startup that was unveiled in 2018. BharatPe made an immediate effect and experienced rapid expansion; within three years of its creation, it was already competing with fintech titans like Paytm and Google Pay.
The success of his startup made him one of the sharks and post shark tank one of the most loved sharks.
Ashneer Grover, the co-founder and CEO of BharatPe, shot to stardom post his participation in Shark Tank India as one of the sharks. Shark Tank which is an Indian adaptation of the popular American business reality television programme became a household favourite in India.
The format of Shark Tank India centres on aspiring business owners pitching their concepts to the show's sharks or you can call prospective investors in exchange for their advice and funding.
Among other sharks, Ashneer Grover was one of the sharks who stood out during the entire first season. The 39-year-old, who was dubbed the season's "acid-tongued shark," garnered media attention each time he gave an entrepreneur on the show his frank and direct opinion. Not only due to his comments and opinion but his untamed personality on Shark Tank India inspired popular social media memes too.
One such famous instance which bought him to centre stage was when he openly told the young businessman pitching his goods that he had never seen a product as repulsive as the one he was promoting. He coined the catchphrase "Yeh Sab Dogalapan Hai", which went viral on social media.
Here are some of his famous dialogues which were loved by the viewers and made him everyone’s favourite:
1. Bilkul Bakwaas Hai Yeh… Bannd Kardo Isey…
2. Yeh Toh Koi Dhandha Hai Hi Nahi…
3. Aap Aapka Time Waste Kar Rahe Ho… Band Karo Isey…
4. Life Barbaad Kar Rahe Ho Tum…
5. Koi Dhang Ki Naukri / Dhandha Karo…
6. Scalable Nahi Lag Raha…
7. 1-2% Mein Toh Main Bistar Se Nahi Uthta…
8. Tumko Dhandha Karna Hai Ya Brand Banana Hai…
9. Ye Koi Dhandha Nahi Banayenge…
10. Meri Offer Sun Lo… Aur Fir Yaad Rakhna Pehle Kisne Offer Kiya Tha…
The list of Ashneer Grover’s dialogues is incomplete without the ultimate one
11. Ye Sab Dogalapan Hai… Main Tera Dogalapana Utaarta Hu Abhi…
Like other businessmen, Ashneer too enjoys living an opulent lifestyle and maintaining a collection of exotic cars. In various interviews and podcasts, he has revealed his love for cars, especially second-hand cars. Well, why he loves second-hand cars is covered in the next heading, here in this section let’s check out the comprehensive list of his luxurious car possessions.
His array of posh, pricey cars includes a Mercedes Maybach, a Porsche Cayman, and others. There is also a widespread rumour that Mercedes-Benz GLS owned by him originally belonged to MS Dhoni.

Can buy: Pre-owned Audi A6
The SUV has a class of its own since it has so much to offer, from comfort to luxury, you name it and it's there. The most expensive model of the car in the nation is priced at about 88.18 Lakh, although it is unknown which variety Grover has.
Can buy: Pre-owned Mercedes Gls 350d
The car, in our opinion, doesn't need an introduction because it screams comfort and elegance. The S650 is one of the most well-liked sedans among celebrities and businesspeople, costing over 2.5 crores.

The best is saved for last: Ashneer Grover is a fan of the sleek and fast sports car that complements his style. He owns a Volkswagen Cayman worth Rs. 1.22 crore that draws everyone's attention when he posts a picture with it in the background.
Being a shark himself and founder of a successful startup Bharatpe, Ashneer Grover chooses to buy second-hand cars over purchasing a new one.
Isn’t it surprising?
Yes, it is, for all of us!
After all, if he is a billionaire himself then why does he need to buy a used car?
Well, here is what Ashneer has to say about it.
In an open conversation, the billionaire admits that he frequently chooses used vehicles over brand-new ones.
According to him,
“If an old automobile is scraped on the road, it hurts less than if a new car is scratched. He continues by saying that he is troubled for more than a week in case a new car is scratched while he is travelling.”
Aside from that, he also states that “used automobiles have high value because new cars lose value as soon as they leave the dealership. Thus, it might not be a terrible idea to hunt for a used automobile that is still very new. In fact, one may get absurdly advantageous deals on used automobiles.”
Well, in the end, we all do agree that it's a good deal to buy a second-hand car.
We think of Grover as a creator of BharatPe, but more than that he has eagle wings of investment in the Indian Startup environment. He is an active investor, and as such, his net worth grows as a result of the profits from his previous investments, which have given him a decent net worth and enabled him to spend a lot of money on a luxurious lifestyle and cars.
Like the Ashneer Grover car collection, if you too want to buy a second-hand car then hop onto Autobest. They have the best collection of used luxury cars. They have their offline store in Delhi, wherein you can visit and get the experience of the car. However, if you are not a resident of Delhi or any place nearby then you can get your best deal online too!
