You've definitely considered the Audi Q7 if you've been shopping around for a luxurious three-row SUV; it was one of the first models to enter this market and has won acclaim for its agile and responsive handling, which belies its large size. However, in recent years, other automakers have introduced vehicles to compete with the BMW X7, and it has become one of the more sought-after full-size, three-row SUVs. How exactly do we compare these two automobiles? Good thing we have the Audi q7 vs BMW x7 comparison to help clear things up.
At the 2002 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Audi Q7 made its debut. It entered production in 2005 as a large, bulky unit and lingered for a long time. It suffered from the same poor quality, heft, and orientation toward the American market as its fellow first-generation German premium SUVs.
2015 marked the debut of the follow-up generation. Its aesthetics were divisive, but the focus shift may have broadened its popularity. The Q7 was turned into an authentic luxury SUV by being lowered, repackaged, and given an extremely remarkable interior.
The Audi SUV comes with either a petrol or diesel engine. The 2995 cc gas motor produces 335.25 horsepower at 5200-6400 rpm and 500 Nm at 1370-4500 rpm of torque. Dimension-wise, it is 5052 mm in length, 1968 mm in width, and 1740 mm in height.
The base Audi Q7 price in Delhi is Rs. 83.32 Lakh, and the highest trim level of the Audi Q7 costs as much as Rs. 88.98 Lakh.
The Q7 has the appearance of a high-riding wagon and appears to have been designed with comfort and convenience in mind rather than to attract attention with a size show. The now-standard "widescreen" aesthetic creates a bright and open environment. The materials are top-notch, the layout is reasonable, and the ergonomics are practically perfect.
The Q7 has forward and rear automatic emergency braking (up to 85 km/h), around-view cameras, blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning, and six airbags.
The Technology features of the Audi Q7 include:
An anti-lock braking system (ABS)
Electronic stability program (ESP)
Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD)
Electronic parking brake (EBA)
A Bose® sound system
Audi Parking Assistant
BOSE® Sound System
Audi drive select
Display touch screen
Child Safety Locks
Central locking
The Audi Q7's wheelbase is about 2.0 metres in length, so passengers will enjoy plenty of front-seat legroom and generous rear-seat head-, leg-, and shoulder room. Also, the trunk has a good size, as may be expected. Capacity is 295 litres, comparable to the trunk of a compact hatchback or a subcompact SUV.
The claimed fuel consumption for the 160kW is 5.8L/100km, and for the 200kW, it is only a little higher at 5.9L/100km.
Only two variations of the BMW SUV are available at launch: the powerful M50d (Rs 2.11 cr and the luxury-focused xDrive30d ( Rs1.36 cr plus on-road costs). Both can transport seven passengers in the comfort they are accustomed to. They are both powerful and equipped with basic equipment.
BMW's X7 xDrive30d is propelled by a 3.0-litre inline-six cylinder turbo-diesel engine with direct injection, good for 195kW at 4000 rpm and 620 Nm from 2000-2500 rpm. The eight-speed auto transmits power to all four wheels.
The X7 M50d is powered by a modified version of the same engine with four turbochargers, which work in consecutive pairs to increase power and torque to 294kW (4400 rpm) and 760 Nm (2000-3000 rpm), respectively.
BMW X7 price has two variants X7 xDrive30d which costs around Rs 1.36 crore, and X7 M50d, which costs around Rs 2.11 crore.
The BMW X7, as the name suggests, is the 7 Series of the SUV family BMW and has the appropriate limousine-like dimensions. It is around 23 centimetres longer than the already massive X5 at a total of 5.15 metres.
The X7 has a wider track than the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. You can tell the X7 is a BMW at a glance. Thanks to the largest application of the brand's kidney grille to date, the car's expression is reminiscent of a carrot-loving bunny.
Eight airbags are in place to cushion your ride (Driver and front passenger head, side, and knee airbags, as well as side airbags for the second row). And in case of an accident, an "Intelligent Emergency Call" feature will activate to summon help swiftly.

The X7 provides true, front-of-the-plane, five-star comfort... for seven people. There's plenty of space and storage in the front, with a covered bin between the seats, twin cupholders in the centre console, a large glove box, and door pockets with an aperture for large bottles.
There are 326 litres of baggage space available with all seven seats up, slightly less than the typical compact, five-seat SUV. Enough to handle our three-piece sets' large (105-litre) and medium (68-litre) hard luggage, with plenty of room to stack them up to the roofline above.
The combined cycle fuel efficiency of the X7 xDrive30d is 7.3L/100km, with the huge Beemer emitting 191 g/km of CO2. At the same time, X7 M50d consumes 7.4 litres of fuel every 100 kilometres and emits 193 grams of CO2 each mile.
